A reflective check-in inspired by The Four Agreements and the throat chakra, exploring the power of words to heal or harm, both externally and internally. In a time of heightened emotion and divided opinions, it offers a gentle invitation to pause, speak with courage and love, and use your voice with intention, authenticity, and care.
“Be impeccable with your word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean.”
Don Miguel Ruiz
Impeccable With Your Word
The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz is undoubtedly one of my top 10 favorite books, possibly top five. In one of the first chapters, Ruiz describes an agreement to be impeccable with your word. It’s a beautifully written reminder to make sure that what you are saying is a reflection of what you mean. A reminder to speak with kindness, leading with love. I’m summarizing, but you get the point.
The Throat Chakra & Authentic Expression
The throat chakra is your center of authenticity. It’s the place from which you speak your truth. Again, summarizing. It’s also an area where I commonly notice imbalances when working with clients. The texture, nature, and reasons are all different as we are all unique beings on our own journey. However, there is one thing that we all have in common.
We all have the power to harm or heal with our words. The internal and external voice that we share has immeasurable power.
Reflection Questions
Are my spoken and unspoken words aligned with my truth? Are they healing or harming myself or others?
Invitation to Heal
Every day, you see someone you know, you meet someone new, you post pictures, and share thoughts. Every day you share your story. As I was recently reminded, that story is a gift.
With so many opportunities to speak or stay silent, when emotions and opinions are competing for volume, this is an invitation to pause. Notice if your words are reactive or intentional. Notice if you are healing or harming. And, when you are really ready, speak your truth impeccably.
